Dear Brother Knights,

    As the newly elected Grand Knight of Council 39, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the outgoing officers for their years of service and congratulate all of the newly elected officers. Immediate Past Grand Knight Dan Loperena has done an excellent service to this council. Under IPGK Loperena, our council started running soccer and free throw challenges, the Keep Christ in Christmas program, Men's Knight Dinners, an increasingly successful Golf tournament, the creation of the Fishing Derby, and raised money for families in need and disabled veterans. This years set of officers will continue to make the these programs a success and care for those in need.

   
    Following the newsletter is the calender of events for the upcoming five months. Hopefully following an enjoyable summer the council events will pick right up at the end of August/beginning of September. Most notable is the First Degree being held at our Council September 15th 2011. We are a volunteer organization, new members are what keep this council alive. If you know any Catholic man over the age of 18 interested in joining, please contact Tim Tobin at (914) 548-6682 or tim@regency-rib.com, for an application or stop by the Council Lounge.

    The Men's Knight dinners are becoming an increasingly popular council event. These dinners are an opportunity to get a night out and just relax. The dinner is held the third Tuesday of every month. This dinner is not a council member restricted event. An man is invited to come to these five star dinners. This dinner is also a good opportunity to bring a prospective member and get them interested. Tickets are available at the Council Lounge or contact Scott Gerardi at (203) 223-5498.

    I would like to thank all the members in advance for their support of upcoming events. This is a volunteer run organization. The more one puts into this council, the more they will get out of it. All members are welcome to volunteer their time at events for as little, or as much time as one has. 15 minutes of help is better than none at all. Currently, we are in need of help raising funds for the upcoming Ed Kavanagh Golf Tournament. Funds generated from this event enable this council to hand out scholarships to those in need.
